Donnie and Ellen have two daughters, Sarah and Amy.
Sarah graduated from Pell City High School and is a Junior at Auburn University. She is a member of the USAF ROTC and will commission in the Air Force upon graduation. Amy is married to Scott Ferrell and lives in Hoover with their son, Brady. Amy is a nurse anesthetist and Scott is a Firefighter / Paramedic.
Donnie has lived in St Clair County since 1986 and in Pell City since 1997. He served as Chairman of the St Clair County Commission from 1990 – 1994 and has served as District 4 Council representative since 1999. He and Ellen owned and operated Alabama Saw Company from 1986 – 2005. Prior to that, he was a Birmingham Police Officer.
Donnie is an avid airplane pilot, flight instructor and check pilot. He flies a jet for a Birmingham company and is active in the US Air Force Auxiliary – Civil Air Patrol.
Donnie serves on the Council Finance and Utilities Committees.
