There are basically two kinds of Pell City traffic citations as described below:
“Court Appearance Not Required” Citation – If you have a “court
appearance not required” citation and would like to take care of it without
appearing in court, you may do so by appearing in-person at the court office
and entering a plea of guilt, or you may do so by going on line www.pellcitytix.com and pay for the citation. We will be glad to place you on probation and allow
you to make payments on a citation if you can not afford to pay in full at
this time although you must appear in person before a magistrate to do this.
You
may also remit your plea & payment by mail: We must
receive such plea and payment within our Municipal Court office on or before
your prescribed court date - postmak dates will not be honored as meeting the
deadline! You may
mail your pleas and payment in full to:
Pell City Municipal Court
1905 1st Ave North
Pell City, AL 35125
Attn: Traffic Court
If you do not want to plead guilty to the citation, you must appear on your
court date to enter a plea before the judge. At that time, your case will
be continued to another date for trial.
"Court Appearance Required" Citations -
If your citation requires a court appearance, you MUST appear in court on
the court date listed on the citation. You will appear before the municipal
judge and enter a plea on the charge. If you plead guilty, the judge will
determine your fine amount and assess court cost and you will be able to
pay at that time or make payment arrangements with Alabama Probation Collections.
If you do not know whether or not your citation requires a court appearance,
you may contact the Pell City Municipal Court at 205-338-2244.
