The Pell City Library Guild was formed in 1993. Incorporated and with 501 C3 status by 1995, the Guild has become an active and visible advocate for the local library. In 2002, the Alabama Library Association presented their prestigious Award-of-Merit to the Library Guild and its Foundation Committee for outstanding support and service to the Pell City Library.
Our Purpose
Anyone in the community with an interest in the purpose of the group is invited to join.
Our goals are to:
- Promote the library as a promotional and educational entity.
- Assist in securing quality materials and services.
- Positively affect the quality of life and growth in the area.
- Encourage the financial support of the library.
A Sampling of Current and Past Projects
- Author Discussions and Signings Pictures (see bottom of page).
- Providing readers for the 21st Century Grant with P.C. Schools.
- Decorating library for special events and holidays.
- Providing volunteers to assist in Library.
- Annual Book Fair fundraiser-First Saturday in December.
- Promoting "Get Carded" in community.
- Purchase of many, many books, furnishings and equipment for Library.
Become a member
We welcome new members at any time. We meet monthly at the library at 5:30PM on the second Thursday of each month from September through November and January through May.
The membership dues are $15.00 per year. We currently have in excess of 100 members and look forward to receiving new members who have this common interest.
